History

The estate was founded in 1801 by grant of three villages to Thakur Surat Singh ji by Maharaja Abhay Singh ji of Jodhpur. The jagir was felicitated for service in war against Sher Bulund Khan (Viceroy Gujarat). During the reign of Emperor Mohammed Shah; Bulund Khan became traitor. Thakur Surat Singh ji wounded Bulund Khan's elephant during the war at Jodhpur Tekra, at present in the city of Ahmedabad (Gujarat).

He was an authority on Marwari Horses. He wrote a book on "Shalihotra" and was known all over Marwar for his knowledge on horses.

He was awarded Distinguished Service Order (DSO) for his meritorious service in the army. He reached the rank of Colonel. Had issue two sons.

Thakur Chhatra Singh Ji was uncle to Raj Rana Duleh Singh Ji of Bari Sadri. Secondly married at village Lavera Baori to Thakurani sa Krishna Kanwar daughter of Thakur Megh Singh Ji of Bhati clan (Jaisa Bhati). He served as Superintendent of Court of Wards in the Jodhpur. Had issue one son and two daughters.
