History

Raja Prithviraj Amber’s great grandson and son of Maharao Khangar was Rao Berisal. Rao Berisal got gaddi of Ugriyawas a patwi thikana of Berisalot Khangarots. Rao Berisal got heroic rate in Naraina in a battle against Mohammed Murad of Ajmer and a memorial is been installed in Naraina. Rao Berisal has 7 sons from 4 wives who got different Jagirs in family partition. Rao Berisal’s son Rao Kesari (Kishore) Singh got the gaddi of Ugriyawas. Rao Kesari Singh ji was very brave. According to Munhot Nainsi He got heroic rate in battle against Nathawats along with his brother Rao Harram Dhinda. Hence the Thikana was gone under state for some time as Rao Kesari Singh had no heirs behind. After Rao Kesari Singh Ji his brother Rao Kishan Singh Ji's son Kr. Ugar Singh ji got gaddi of Ugriyawas. According to historical facts Rao Ugar Singh had 6 sons - 1) Kr. Kushal Singh Ji (Ugriyawas) 2) Kr. Fateh Singh Ji (Kachroda) 3) Kr. Jorawar Singh Ji (Dhami) 4) Kr. Gyan Singh Ji (Sanjriya) 5) Kr. Amar Singh(Mahaswas) 6) Kr. Kaniram (Rojadi). After Rao Ugar Singh Ji his son Kr. Kushal Singh ji got gaddi of Ugriyawas in 1724 Iswi under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. Rao Kushal Singh Ji had 3 sons Kr. Gaj Singh, Kr. Jai Singh, Kr. Sukh Singh. After Rao Kushal Singh ji his eldest son Kr. Gaj Singh Ji became Thakur of Ugriyawas.

Thakur Gaj Singh Ji Ugriyawas had 2 sons Shivdaan Singh (Shyodaan Singh) & Shambhu Singh. Kr. Shivdaan Singh or Shyodaan Singh became Thakur of Ugriyawas in year 1747 and Kr. Shambhu Singh became Thakur of Mamana. Thakur Shivdaan Singh ji was very brave and intelligent Thakur of Ugriyawas. He was Jagirdar under the rule of Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh Ji. He participated in battle of Raj Mahal (March 1747) which was between Sawai Ishwari Singh and his younger brother Madho Singh for the Gaddi of Jaipur and Battle of Bagru (August 1748)again between two brothers for Gaddi of Jaipur. Thakur Shivdaan Singh Ugriyawas was from Maharaja Ishwari Singh’s side. He was great leader and because of his services and bravery shown in Battle of Bagru and Raj Mahal he received pattas of Boraj and near by villages from Sawai Iswari Singh of Jaipur. But he remain in Ugriyawas his main Thikana and ruled these areas. Later on some Jagirs were given to his sons during property division. Thakur Shivdaan Singh had 5 sons - 1).Kr. Arjun Singh ji remain as Ugriyawas Thakur the eldest son 2).Kr. Sakat Singh Ji (Got gaddi of Boraj) 3).Kr. Jawaan Singh Ji (Sitarampura) 4).Kr. Sujan Singh ji ( Hirnoda) 5). Kr. Pahad Singh Ji (Gudha Saypura). After Thakur Shivdaan Singh Ji his eldest son Kr. Arjun Singh ji became Thakur of Ugriyawas. Thakur Arjun Singh was brave and munificent ruler of his Jagir. He along with his brother participated in battle against Maratha in January 1787 iswi in Boraj just few months before the famous battle of Toonga between Jaipur and Marathas. The Maratha Sardar Mahadaji Scindia sent his commander Rayji Patel to attack Boraj and near by Jagirs of Khangarots as Khangarot Sardars were the biggest obstacle between Jaipur and Marathas. In this battle he faught bravely along with his brothers. Thakur Jawan Singh Sitarampura who was his younger brother got heroic rate and a stone inscription is been installed in Boraj to describe his bravery in this battle, Maratha commander was defeated badly and after 6 month of this defeat they attacked jaipur forces again in Toonga where they were defeated again and Khangarot sardars came in action and fought bravely for their Maharaja. Thakur Arjun married and had issue Kr. Nawal Singh later he became Thakur of Ugriyawas. Thakur Nawal Singh was also brave Thakur of Ugriyawas. He got married and had a issue. After Thakur Nawal Singh Ji his son Kr. Isari Singh ji became Thakur of Ugriyawas. He was very brave and famous Jagirdar. Thakur Isari Singh fought many battles some small some big among these one was battle of Kalakh Thikana against Sawai Pratap Singh of Jaipur in year 1792. Thakur Isari Singh while helping his Khangarot brother Thakur Berisal of Kalakh got heroic rate in this battle and his memorial is at Ugriyawas.

After Thakur Isari Singh his son Thakur Fatehnath Singh Ji became ruler of Ugriyawas. He was great munificent and famous Thakur. After Thakur Fatehnath Singh ji his son Thakur Madho singh ji became ruler of Ugriyawas and his brothers were Kr. Govind Singh ji, Kr. Bishan Singh ji , Kr. Roop Singh, Kr. Kalyan Singh ji. Thakur Madho Singh ji Ugriyawas got heroic rate in battle in Boraj in year 1867 while helping his Khangarot brother of Boraj. On stone inscription in Ugriyawas it is written that around 50 Thakurs from near by Jagirs got heroic rate in this battle. Thakur Sangram Singh ji son of Thakur Madho Singh ji got gaddi of Ugriyawas died at young age in year 1879 and memorial is in Ugriyawas. After this gaddi of Ugriyawas was given to Kr. Zorawar Singh ji who was son of Thakur Kalyan Singh ji,younger brother of Thakur Madho Singh ji Ugriyawas.
