Pardamataji

Established in 1584 AD, the Thikana of Pardamataji represents a historic Chauhan Rajput vassal state within the erstwhile princely state of Banswara in the Vagad region of Rajasthan. The estate was founded when Maharawal Pratap Singh of Banswara granted the land to Thakur Jait Singh, the son of Thakur Lal Singh of the prominent Motagaon Mand thikana, in recognition of their clan's valor and unwavering loyalty to the state. Over the centuries, the rulers of Pardamataji successfully navigated the complex geopolitical shifts of the Mughal era and subsequent British paramountcy, maintaining their administrative autonomy while fulfilling their feudal obligations to the Banswara state. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the Thikana was formally integrated into the state of Rajasthan, ending its formal feudal administration but retaining its rich cultural and architectural heritage in local history.
