Noli

Noli Thikana, situated in the historic Malwa region, represents a prominent feudal estate of the Chundawat clan, a premier sub-branch of the Sisodia dynasty of Mewar. The lineage of Noli's rulers traces back to Rawat Chunda, the eldest son of Maharana Lakha of Mewar, who famously renounced his claim to the throne of Chittorgarh in the 15^th century, securing hereditary privileges and prime fiefs for his descendants. Established during the territorial expansions and border consolidations of the medieval period, Noli served as a strategic outpost safeguarding the Mewar-Malwa frontier. Over the centuries, the Thakurs of Noli maintained strict martial allegiance to the Maharana of Udaipur while navigating the turbulent political landscapes dominated by the Mughal Empire and later the Maratha Confederacy, as documented in comprehensive regional studies like R.
