History
The historical estate of Talanpur Thikana, situated within the erstwhile princely state of Marwar (modern-day Jodhpur, Rajasthan), was granted to Thakur Jaskaran Singh Ji Bhati, the son of Thakur Jagannath Singh Ji Bhati of the prominent Beru Thikana, by Maharaja Ajit Singh of Marwar. The Bhati Rajputs of this lineage trace their ancestry back to the royal house of Jaisalmer, having later integrated into the feudal hierarchy of Marwar where they rendered vital military service to the Rathore rulers. This prestigious jagir was bestowed upon Thakur Jaskaran Singh Ji in recognition of his family's loyalty and valor during the turbulent decades of the Rajput-Mughal conflict, particularly during Marwar's war of independence led by Maharaja Ajit Singh and Veer Durgadas Rathore against the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Following the integration of princely states into the Indian Union post-independence, the feudal administration of the Thikana concluded with the abolition of the Jagirdari system, though the descendants of the Talanpur family continue to preserve their rich cultural heritage and ancestral legacy in Rajasthan.
