History
The Thikana of Ghodi Tejpur (also known as Godi Tejpur) is an eminent estate belonging to the Ahra (Adhada) Guhilot Sisodia clan, located within the historic region of Banswara in southern Rajasthan. The estate was granted as an appanage (noble fief) to Maharaj Chhatar Singh Saheb, a younger son of His Highness Maharawal Shambhu Singh Bahadur, the ruler of the princely state of Banswara from 1914 to 1944. As direct descendants of the Banswara ruling house, the family shares its lineage with the illustrious Guhilot (Sisodia) dynasty of Mewar, which originally branched out to rule the Vagad region. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the Thikana was integrated into the modern state of Rajasthan, though the descendants continue to maintain their traditional heritage and local cultural prominence.
