History
Rulers of Kohra belongs to the illustrious Kachwaha clan of Rajputs, one of the Chathis Rajkula. They are descended from Kush, one of the twin sons of Rama and Sita. The Royal Family of Kohra is descended from Raja Sodh Dev of Dausa (see Jaipur) 966/1006, who migrated from Narwargarh. Raja Sodh Dev was the son of Raja Ishwar Das of Gwalior, a descendant of Raja Nal of Ajodhya. Founded in the 17th century. The founder of the family was Babu Himmat Shah, a younger son of Raja Bikram Shah of Amethi.
