History
Bhadesar, situated in the historic Chittorgarh region of Rajasthan, was a prominent first-class feudal estate (Thikana) of the princely state of Mewar, ruled by the illustrious Chundawat clan of the Sisodia Rajput dynasty. The rulers of Bhadesar, who held the title of Rawat, trace their lineage back to the legendary Rawat Chunda, the eldest son of Maharana Lakha of Mewar, who famously renounced his claim to the throne of Mewar in the 15th century in favor of his younger stepbrother. Renowned for their martial valor and unwavering loyalty, the Rawats of Bhadesar served as leading commanders in the Mewar state forces, defending the state against Mughal and Maratha invasions. The Thikana maintained its noble status and administrative authority through the era of British suzerainty until its eventual integration into the democratic Indian Union in 1948 following India's Independence.
