Vavri Nanga

Vavri Nanga (historically known as Vavdi Nanga) was a minor princely estate or Thikana located in the Saurashtra (Kathiawar) peninsula of Gujarat, ruled by the Kathi Rajputs of the Vala (Balla) dynasty who claimed legendary descent from the ancient Maitrakas of Vallabhi. During the British colonial era, the estate was organized under the Gohelwar division of the Western India States Agency, where the local talukdars exercised limited civil and criminal jurisdiction while maintaining agrarian revenue rights over their territory. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the estate was integrated into the United State of Kathiawar in 1948, ultimately merging into the modern state of Gujarat, marking the transition of the Balla rulers from feudal chiefs to citizens of democratic India.
