History
Tasing Thikana, situated in the Behror region of the modern-day Alwar district in Rajasthan, holds a distinguished position in regional history as a prominent estate of the Raghuvanshi (Badgujar) Rajput clan. Tracing their ancestral lineage to the legendary Solar Dynasty (Suryavansha), the rulers of Tasing established a strong local hegemony, defending their territories against external incursions during the medieval era. The Thikana played a strategic role in the turbulent geopolitics of the region, navigating relations with neighboring powers, including the Mughals and the Marathas, before eventually aligning under the umbrella of the princely state of Alwar during the British Raj. Today, the historic ruins of the Tasing Fort stand as a silent monument to their architectural and martial heritage, marking the transition of this proud feudal estate into the democratic fabric of post-independence India.
