History
Sirani Thikana, situated in the historic Dhundhar region of Rajasthan, is a prominent estate of the Nathawat sub-clan of the Kachwaha dynasty of Jaipur. The Nathawats trace their ancestry back to Rao Nathaji, a distinguished noble of the Amber Royal House and son of Rao Gopalji, who founded the Samode and Chomu line of nobility. Granted as a hereditary fiefdom (jagir) for loyal and meritorious military service to the rulers of Jaipur State, Sirani played a vital role in local administration and the defense of the kingdom during the turbulent Mughal and Maratha periods. Following India's independence, the Thikana was integrated into the modern state of Rajasthan, with its feudal privileges officially abolished under the Rajasthan Land Reforms and Resumption of Jagirs Act, 1952, transitioning the estate's legacy from administrative rulers to guardians of regional heritage.
