Rotwara

Rotwara is an esteemed Thikana (fiefdom) of the princely Jaipur State, historically held by the noble Rajawat sub-clan of the Kachwaha dynasty of Rajputs. The Rajawats, who trace their direct ancestry to the celebrated ruler Maharaja Man Singh I of Amber, were granted various estates for their exceptional military service and loyalty to the state. As a prominent Rajawat Thikana, Rotwara played a vital role in the feudal hierarchy of Jaipur, with its chiefs contributing significantly to the administration and defense of the state during the Mughal era and subsequent British suzerainty. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the jagir was integrated into the modern state of Rajasthan, ending its formal feudal administrative powers while preserving its rich historical legacy.
