History
The Thikana of Ransipur, historically situated in the Mahi Kantha Agency of Gujarat, serves as a prominent seat of the Balawat Rathores, an illustrious branch of the Rathore dynasty tracing its descent from Rao Bala (Balaji), the son of Rao Shuja, the ruler of Marwar (Jodhpur) who reigned from 1492 to 1515. Renowned for their martial prowess, the Balawat Rathores established their influence in the region, administering Ransipur as a significant estate under the administrative umbrella of the Idar State and the British Raj. This historical legacy survived through the colonial era until post-independence integration, when the estate was formally merged into the Indian Union in 1948, leaving behind a rich legacy of local governance and Rajput heritage that is preserved by their descendants to this day.
