Raithal

Raithal Thikana, situated in the historic Dhundhar region of Rajasthan, was a prominent estate ruled by the Balapota sub-clan of the Kachwaha dynasty. The Balapota branch traces its patrilineal descent from Baba Balbhadra Singh, a distinguished son of Raja Prithviraj Singh I of Amber (who ruled from 1503 to 1527 CE). As feudal nobles under the Jaipur Durbar, the Thakurs of Raithal held a significant position in the courtly hierarchy and actively participated in the military campaigns of the state throughout the Mughal and Maratha periods. Following India's independence and the subsequent integration of princely states, the estate was formally merged into the state of Rajasthan, though the descendants of the thikana continue to preserve their rich cultural heritage and ancestral legacy today.
