History

Pheela Thikana, situated in the historic region of Udaipur (Mewar) in Rajasthan, is an ancestral estate held by the Shaktawat sub-clan of the Sisodia dynasty. The lineage of this Thikana traces back to Maharaj Shakti Singh, the legendary brother of Maharana Pratap, whose descendants established several prominent estates across Mewar to safeguard the state's frontiers. As noble feudatories to the Maharanas of Udaipur, the chiefs of Pheela rendered exemplary military and administrative services throughout the Mughal, Maratha, and British periods, maintaining their strategic significance until the post-independence integration of princely states into the democratic union of India.
