History
Nara Jagir, located in the rugged terrain of Kutch (modern-day Gujarat), was a notable estate ruled by the Bhayad (noble cadets) of the Jadeja Rajput dynasty, who traced their ancestry to the ruling house of the princely Kutch State. As feudal landholders, the chiefs of Nara played a crucial role in safeguarding the northwestern frontier of Kutch and managing local administration under the suzerainty of the Rao of Kutch. The estate maintained its traditional socio-political structure throughout the Mughal and British periods, as documented in the Gazetteer of the Bombay Presidency, before eventually merging into the Indian Union following India's independence in 1947.
