Moti Bhalsan

Sodha Rajputs are a sub clan of the Parmar dynasty and have originated from Tharparkar Sindh. There are only four villages of Sodha Rajputs in Gujarat, namely Moti Bhalsan, Shekhpat, Dhandha and Laliya. Moti Bhalsan is largest of all spreading over an area of roughly 4000 acres of land.

Rana Parbatji Sodha was the founder and head of Moti Bhalsan roughly around 1500 CE. Moti Bhalsan has witnessed the birth of a great warrior Togaji Sodha who played a pivotal role in winning the Battle of Bhuchar Mori near Jamnagar in 1591. Togaji Sodha also played a vital role in winning the battle of ‘Mithoi’ near Jamnagar in 1606 CE. It was only because of Togaji Sodha and other great warriors the battle could be won. Togaji Sodha along with three other men dismantled 140 guns of Sultan of Ahmedabad. In this battle Togaji Sodha suffered 84 major wounds. He was considered to be the greatest warrior of that century.
