Madhupur

Established as a reward for exceptional military merit, the Madhupur Jagir represents a significant historical link between the Kachwaha Rajput clan and the Maratha rulers of the Gwalior State. During the reign of Maharaja Shrimant Jayaji Rao Scindia (r. 1843–1886), Raja Saheb Angad Singh Ji Kachwaha distinguished himself through acts of conspicuous bravery, prompting the Gwalior Durbar to grant him this hereditary estate. This alliance solidified the presence of the Kachwaha lineage in the region, where they actively contributed to local governance and military administration under the suzerainty of the Scindias, maintaining their aristocratic traditions and jagirdari privileges until the post-independence abolition of the feudal system in India.
