Maalgaon

The estate of Maalgaon, a notable fiefdom of the Deora Chauhan clan, was established when it was granted as a jagir to Thakur Rai Singh by Maharao Shri Udai Singh of Sirohi. This grant solidified the family's feudal ties and military obligations to the Sirohi Durbar. Following the tenure of Thakur Rai Singh, the estate was divided into two equal shares between his two eldest sons, creating two distinct co-sharing lineages that managed the thikana's affairs. This division of land and administration persisted under the suzerainty of the rulers of Sirohi State through successive generations, maintaining their ancestral heritage and regional influence until the merger of princely states post-Independence.
