History
Kailash Thikana, a prominent offshoot of the illustrious Shekhawat dynasty, was founded in 1752 by Thakur Amar Singh, the son of Rao Raghunath Singh of Parasrampura and a direct descendant of Rao Bhojraj Ji, whose lineage traces back to Maharao Shekha, the legendary fifteenth-century founder of Shekhawati and grandson of Raja Udaikaran of Amber (Jaipur). As part of the Bhojrajika sub-clan of the Kachwaha Rajputs, the ruling family of Kailash maintained significant local influence and autonomy within the Jaipur State, navigating the turbulent geopolitical shifts of the 18th and 19th centuries, including Maratha incursions and the eventual establishment of British paramountcy in Rajputana. Following India's independence and the integration of princely states into Rajasthan, the feudal administration of the Thikana formally concluded with the passage of the Rajasthan Land Reforms and Resumption of Jagirs Act in 1952, transitioning this historic seat of Shekhawat heritage into the modern democratic era.
