History
The Kacholi Thikana was established as a prominent noble estate (jagir) under the princely state of Sirohi. The foundation of this thikana dates back to the late 16th or early 17th century, when Thakur Shri Sur Singh, the second son of the legendary Maharao Shri Surtan Singhji of Sirohi (who ruled from 1572 to 1610 and famously defended his territory during the Mughal era), was granted the fiefdom of Kacholi. Belonging to the Deora clan of the Chauhan Rajputs, the Thakurs of Kacholi served as loyal vassals of the Sirohi State, maintaining their administrative and military influence in the region throughout the Mughal and British periods, until the thikana was integrated into the modern Indian state of Rajasthan post-independence.
