History

Jotayan Thikana, situated in the Ajmer region of Rajasthan, is a historic estate belonging to the Jodha branch of the illustrious Rathore dynasty. The rulers of this estate trace their lineage directly back to Rao Jodha, the legendary 15th-century sovereign of Marwar and the founder of Jodhpur. As traditional military nobles, the Jodha Rathores of Jotayan maintained administrative autonomy over their lands, navigating the complex geopolitical shifts of the Mughal, Maratha, and British periods. Following India's independence and the subsequent abolition of the Jagirdari system, the family transitioned into the modern era while continuing to preserve their rich cultural heritage and ancestral legacy.
