Isarthuni

Isarthuni Thikana, situated in the erstwhile princely state of Banswara, is a premier estate held by the noble Bharmalot Rathore clan, a branch that traces its lineage back to the royal house of Marwar. The Bharmalot Rathores of this region descend from Rao Bharmal, establishing themselves as influential chieftains in the Vagad region of southern Rajasthan. As first-class nobles (Sardars) of Banswara, the Thakurs of Isarthuni historically held significant administrative and military responsibilities, actively defending the state's frontiers during the periods of Maratha dominance and the subsequent transition to British paramountcy. This legacy of local governance and martial service was maintained continuously until the estate's integration into the Union of India in 1949, as detailed in regional records preserved in the Imperial Gazetteer of India.
