History
The Thikana of Harani was established as a prominent vassal estate under the princely state of Sirohi. The estate was granted to Thakur Samant Singh, the younger son of Rao Lakhraj Singh (popularly known as Rao Lakha, who ruled Sirohi from 1451 to 1483 AD). As members of the illustrious Deora clan—a major branch of the Songara Chauhan Rajputs—the Thakurs of Harani served as key military and administrative allies to the ruling house of Sirohi, safeguarding the region's frontiers through turbulent medieval periods. This feudal lineage maintained its traditional authority and cultural heritage within the socio-political fabric of Rajputana until the integration of princely states into democratic India post-independence.
