History
Gagchana was a prominent vassal estate (Thikana) of the Hada Chauhan clan of Rajputs, located in the historic Hadoti region of Rajasthan. Established as a feudal fief under the suzerainty of the princely Kota State (and historically linked to the parent house of Bundi), the Thikana was ruled by noble descendants of the Hada lineage who played a vital role in the military and administrative affairs of the region. The Thakurs of Gagchana maintained loyal allegiance to the Maharaos of Kota, contributing to the defense of the realm during the turbulent Mughal and Maratha eras, before transitioning into the British treaty alliance system and eventually integrating into the democratic state of India post-Independence in 1947.
