Dedu

Dedu Thikana, situated in the historic Dhundhar region of Rajasthan, is an ancestral estate belonging to the prestigious Nathawat subclan of the Kachwaha dynasty. The Nathawats trace their noble lineage back to Rao Natha Ji, the illustrious grandson of Raja Prithviraj Singh I of Amber (who reigned from 1503 to 1527 CE), placing them among the premier aristocracy of the erstwhile Jaipur State. Historically, the Thakurs of Dedu served as vital military commanders and administrators for the Jaipur Darbar, actively participating in various regional campaigns and state affairs. They exercised administrative and judicial authority over their fiefdom, contributing to the socio-economic development and cultural patronage of the region. Following the integration of princely states into the Indian Union post-1947, the thikana transitioned from its feudal administrative role, while its descendants continue to preserve their rich heritage, architectural legacy, and traditional customs in modern India.
