Chhinchhas

The Thikana of Chhinchhas, located in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, was established in the early 19^th century during a period of intense geopolitical rivalry among the major princely states of Rajputana. The estate was granted to the Tanwar (Tomar) Rajputs, specifically to Thakur Madan Singh, the third son of Thakur Sultan Singh of Kelawa Kalan. Thakur Madan Singh played an active role in the regional conflicts of the era, notably siding with Thakur Sawai Singh of Pokhran in his rebellion against Maharaja Man Singh of Jodhpur—a conflict tied directly to the historic Krishna Kumari dispute. In recognition of his valor, military service, and alliance, Maharaja Jagat Singh II of Jaipur formally granted the Chhinchhas Thikana to Thakur Madan Singh, solidifying the presence of this branch of the Tanwar dynasty in the Shekhawati region.
