History

The Changeri Zamindari was a historical estate held by the Jadon (Yaduvanshi) clan of Rajputs, who claim descent from the legendary Chandravanshi lineage of Lord Krishna. Closely associated as a cadet branch of the princely state of Karauli, the thikana of Changeri exercised local administrative and revenue-collecting authority over its territories during the Mughal and British colonial epochs. The rulers of this estate served as loyal feudatories, contributing military support and maintaining local governance. Following India's independence and the subsequent land reforms of the 1950s, the zamindari was abolished, and the estate was integrated into the modern democratic framework.
