Bodayata

The Thikana of Bodayata, a prominent estate of the Jodha Rathore clan, was established in 1700 AD when Maharaj Kushal Singh of the princely Jhabua State granted the fief to Thakur Bakhtawar Singh Ji. Descended from the illustrious royal house of Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, the nobles of this thikana served as traditional vassals to the Jhabua durbar, contributing significantly to the military and administrative stability of the region. Bodayata maintained its distinct socio-political influence as a Jodha Rathore stronghold through successive Maratha and British colonial periods, preserving its aristocratic heritage until its integration into the Indian Union post-independence.
