History

The Bamroli Thikana represents a distinguished feudal estate of the Parmar (Panwar) dynasty, tracing its illustrious lineage back to the imperial Paramara dynasty of Malwa, celebrated for their patronage of art, literature, and military prowess under legendary rulers like Raja Bhoj. Following the fragmentation of the central Parmar authority in Dhar and Ujjain, branches of the clan migrated into various regions of Rajasthan and Central India to establish independent principalities and thikanas, including Bamroli. Throughout the medieval, Mughal, and British colonial eras, the thikana maintained its distinct socio-political identity, governed by its traditional Rajput chieftains who contributed to local administration, defense, and cultural preservation. Following India's independence and the subsequent integration of princely states, the estate was formally merged into the democratic nation, leading to the abolition of the jagirdari system, though the descendants of the Bamroli house continue to uphold their rich heritage and historical legacy in the modern era.
