History
Baleri Thikana, situated in the erstwhile princely state of Bikaner (in modern-day Churu district, Rajasthan), serves as the ancestral seat of the Kumbhawat clan, a distinguished branch of the Rajawat Kachwaha Rajputs who trace their lineage back to Rao Shivji Singhji of Amer. The estate, consisting of a patta of three villages, was formally granted in 1751 AD to Thakur Madan Singhji by Maharaja Gaj Singh of Bikaner, who also bestowed the prestigious honor of Sadi Tazim (Single Tazim) upon the estate's lord. Due to strategic matrimonial alliances over generations, the Thakurs of Baleri enjoyed the coveted status of Parsangis (honored relatives of the royal house) within the Bikaner court, representing a unique bridge of kinship and military alliance between the Kachwahas of Jaipur and the Rathores of Bikaner. Scholars seeking deeper genealogical details on the feudal structure of this region can refer to historical records preserved in G. H. Ojha's authoritative History of the Bikaner State.
