History
Ajanda is an historic estate (Thikana) held by the distinguished Rajawat sub-clan of the Kachwaha dynasty of Jaipur. As descendants of Raja Man Singh I of Amber, the Thakurs of Ajanda occupied a significant position within the feudal hierarchy of the Jaipur State, traditionally rendering military service and administrative loyalty to the Jaipur Durbar. During the Mughal and British periods, the rulers of this Thikana actively participated in regional campaigns, safeguarding their ancestral land and upholding the martial heritage of the Rajawat clan. Following India's independence in 1947, the estate was integrated into the United State of Rajasthan in 1949, and its feudal system was formally dissolved under the Rajasthan Land Reforms and Resumption of Jagirs Act of 1952, marking Ajanda's transition into the modern era.
