Aaglod

Aaglod Thikana, situated in the modern-day Mehsana district of Gujarat, was a prominent estate of the Rathore dynasty, tracing its ancestral lineage back to the illustrious Rathore rulers of Marwar and the princely state of Idar. Established by Rajput warriors who migrated from Rajputana to the Mahi Kantha region of Gujarat, Aaglod functioned as a talukdari estate under the administrative oversight of the Mahi Kantha Agency during the British Raj. The rulers of this Thikana maintained local autonomy and preserved their distinct Rathore clan identity, contributing significantly to the regional socio-political fabric. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the estate was integrated into the Indian Union, with its territory eventually becoming part of the modern state of Gujarat, where the heritage and legacy of the Aaglod Rathores are still preserved by their descendants.
