History
Thoomba Thikana, situated in the historic Marwar region of Rajasthan, was a prominent estate ruled by the Sindhal branch of the illustrious Rathore dynasty. The Sindhal Rathores trace their noble lineage back to Rao Sindhal, a valiant warrior and son of Rao Asthanji, the second ruler of the Rathore clan in Marwar. Established as a tributary fiefdom under the Princely State of Jodhpur, Thoomba played an active role in the geopolitics of the region, with its thakurs providing military allegiance and administrative support to the Maharaja of Jodhpur during crucial battles. This historic estate maintained its traditional feudal administrative structure and cultural legacy until the post-independence era, when the democratic integration of Rajasthan led to the abolition of the Jagirdari system in 1949.
