Dabani

The Dabani Thikana was a notable feudal estate of three villages within the princely state of Sirohi, ruled by the Deora clan of the Chauhan Rajput dynasty. The estate was granted to Thakur Sami Das, the grandson of Thakur Randhir Singh and a direct descendant of Rao Shri Lakharaj (Lakha) Singh, who ruled Sirohi from 1451 to 1483. As vassals of the Sirohi state, the Thakurs of Dabani provided military service and counsel to the ruling Maharaos. During the British Raj, the political and social standing of the estate was formally codified, with Dabani ranking 14^th in order of precedence among the nobles (Sirdars) of Sirohi in 1893, as documented in regional records and the Gazetteer of Sirohi State. Following India's independence and the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the Thikana was integrated into the state of Rajasthan, and the traditional jagirdari system was formally abolished under post-independence land reforms.
