History

A Third Class State, the ruling family is descended from the Virani branch of the Wala division of the Kathi clan. The State was a part of the Jetpur Taluka. It was in the time of Wala Shri Mulu Naja, who was third in descent from Vira Wala (Virani branch), that the Ruling Families of Jetpur came into contact with the British. He had entered into the engagements with Colonel Walker on behalf of all the shareholders of Jetpur. The State followed the rule of primogeniture for succession. The powers of the State were: Criminal : Seven years of rigorous imprisonment and 10,000Rs fine. Civil: Up to 20,000Rs.
