Raja MAHARATHI SINGH, present Raja Sahib of Umaidnagar (Pal Haveli, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India), educated at Mayo College, Ajmer and St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1990, he was a well known hockey player and was appointed the captain of the college team; he married Rani Kavita Rathore (Jodha), daughter of late Thakur Madan Singhji of Jajota, Parbatsar, and his wife, Thakurani Kamal Kanwar Shekhawat of Dujod (Sikar), and has issue, one son.
  • Kunwar Rudraksh Singh, currently (2007) studying in junior school.

History

The villages of Dhikai along with Cherai and Mathania, were granted to Thakur Bhom Singh, son of Rao Bahadur Jai Singhji of Osian, later the village of Dhikai was renamed to Umaid Nagar, after the marriage of the sister of the Thakur Saheb to HH Maharaja Umaid Singhji of Jodhpur.

  • Raja BHUPAT SINGH B.A., Raja of Umaidnagar 1943/-, born , educated at Colonel Brown’s School in Dehra Dun and at Mayo College, Ajmer, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree; in sports he excelled in weight lifting and Polo; he was President of Hanuwant Educational Society, President of Jodhpur Cycle Association, Vice President Chopasni School Education Society, Vice President of Rajasthan Kennel Club, Addl.
