History

The ancestors of this family firstly lived in Patan ( Gujarat ) and then Ranak ( Near Lach or Lahgav ) in Sirohi and then Desuri (Pali ) before founding Roopnagar. Thakurs of Roopnagar and Jhilwara belong to the Rajawat clan of Solanki rajputs and claim themselves direct descendant of Samrat Siddhraj Jaisinh Solanki of Gujarat. Raja Tribhuvanpal was the last Solanki King of this line in Gujarat (1241/1244), when their army commanders and one of the branch of Solankis, Baghela took over the Patan throne. King Tribhuvanpal's son Raja Ranakdev Ji came to Rajasthan and founded his kingdom as Ranak near Lahgav, Sirohi. At the end of 15thcentury, his decendant Raja Bhojraj got killed in battle with Sirohi King Rao Lakha and then after some time they settled at Desuri under Thakur Raimal Solanki.
