Thakur VIKRAM ADITYA SINGH NATHAWAT, present Thakur Saheb of Chomu. born in Jaipur; worked with the Taj Group of Hotels India, as Area Director in Rambagh Palace Hotel, Jaipur, then in Taj Hotels Nepal and finally settled in Jaipur after retirement; married 17th February 1964 in Daspan, Dist. Jalore, Rajasthan to Thakurani Shrimant Gayatri Kumari, and has issue.

History

The Thikana is a collateral branch of the Samode fiefdom founded in the 16th century by Rao Gopalji fl. 1550, 4th son of Raja Prithviraj Singhji I of Jaipur. The estate renders service with cavalry and pays no tribute. The town is 20 miles to the northwest of Jaipur City. The Chief is a Tazimi Noble of Jaipur State and one of the most prominent Nobles of Jaipur. The Chomu family, besides its estate in Jaipur, holds a temple and some lands and buildings at Brindaban in the Mathura district.

  • Rao Bahadur Thakur GOVIND SINGH Bahadur, Thakur Saheb of Chomu 1862/1900, born , son of Thakur Shivdan Singh of Ajairajpura, Member of the State Council 1881/-, he was granted the titles of Bahadur by the Jaipur Darbar and Rao Bahadur by the British Government in 1889, he adopted his nephew, Kunwar Devi Singh, son of Thakur Anand Singh of Ajairajpura; married and had adoptive issue. He died sp 1900.

  • Thakur DEVI SINGHJI Bahadur, Thakur Saheb of Chomu 1900/aft 1931, born as Kunwar Devi Singh, second son of Thakur Anand Singh of Ajairajpura, educated at Mayo College, Ajmer and Maharajas' College, Jaipur; appointed Member of the State Council in 1901, awarded a Sword of Honour for meritorious service in WWI, Military Member of the State Council in 1925/1931, married (amongst others), Thakurani Karamsotji of Thikana Khimsar in Jodhpur, and had issue, ten sons and five daughters.
